Conscious Movement and Dance in Body Psychotherapy

When the body speaks – movement as a pathway to emotions, authenticity, and freedom of expression.

What Are Conscious Movement and Dance Workshops?

These workshops are not “dance classes” in the conventional sense. There are no prescribed steps, no comparison, no choreography.

There is only your present-moment experience – the movement that comes from within, the movement that does not have to be beautiful or make sense, but is yours. Through music, silence, breath, and contact, we create a space where the body can express itself freely, truthfully, without shame or control.

The workshops offer a safe space for connecting with yourself, as well as with others – because it is precisely the body that guides us towards authentic encounter. And that is something that is often missing from everyday life.

Why Do We Come Together in a Group?

Perhaps you feel “trapped in your head,” overwhelmed by thoughts, while your body feels tired and tense. Perhaps you have not felt the joy of movement for a long time. Maybe emotions have become “stuck” in your body – anger, sadness, fear – and you do not know how to release or let them move through you. Perhaps you long for more freedom, sensuality, aliveness. Or maybe you simply need a space where you can move without being judged.

A group has a power of its own. When we move, breathe, and simply be together, something within us can begin to move more deeply than when we are alone.

Perhaps you feel that you need more aliveness, freedom, and spontaneity. Perhaps you want to experience what it is like to be seen without judgement. Maybe you are longing for a sense of belonging – not because you have to “become” something, but because you can be who you are, right now.

The group offers us a mirror – others can often move something within us where we do not give ourselves permission to go. And this is precisely why healing within community can unfold more deeply, in layers, and with greater gentleness.

What Does Movement Reveal?

Your body remembers everything – joy and shame, love and fear, freedom and restriction. When the body moves freely, without external demands, it begins to “speak” spontaneously. Movement takes us to places we might not reach through rational thought. Sometimes a memory, an emotion, or an image emerges. Sometimes we simply experience relief, healing, or a sense of being grounded in the body.

We explore what it means to be here and now, what it means to let go of control, and to release the body from learned patterns of tension.

When you move consciously, in a safe space, what has been suppressed can find expression – perhaps through dance, perhaps through tears, perhaps through laughter.

Sometimes you realise that you did not even know how much you had been holding yourself under control. And sometimes you simply feel – lightness, connection, a return to yourself.

The work is grounded in the principles of body-oriented psychotherapy and includes conscious breathing, following inner impulses, expressing emotions through movement, contact with others, grounding, and integrating the experience.

It is a journey of coming home – into the body.

What Does a Workshop Look Like?

A workshop lasts between 2 and 3 hours, depending on the theme and structure. We begin by grounding ourselves and connecting with the breath and the body.

Through musical sequences, simple invitations, and support, we allow the body to express itself – through dance, movement, stillness, shaking, whispering, or silence.

The final part is devoted to verbal integration, sharing the experience, and a gentle return to everyday self. In some workshops, we also use creative media such as writing, drawing, or sound.

We work through individual movement, as well as in pairs or small groups – always with the freedom to choose. There is no forcing, only an invitation.

Who Is This Practice For?

For those who do not know how to express themselves through words.
For those who are tired of “being strong.”
For those who feel that their body is sending them messages, but do not know how to translate them.
For those who want more presence, pleasure, and freedom.
For those who want to dance – not to look beautiful, but to feel Life.
For those who do not dance – but want to.
For those who have lost touch with their body – and want to find their way back.
For those who want to go deeper into the therapeutic process – through the body.
For those who want to explore touch, boundaries, and expression.
For those who long for a freer, more joyful, more conscious way of inhabiting their own body and being in contact with others.

Workshops Explore Different Themes
We work with themes such as:
boundaries and trust
contact and authenticity
freedom and control
the inner child and inner movement
the dance of the heart, pelvis, and voice
breath and movement through the elements
Each workshop has its own guiding thread, while the structure remains flexible and responsive to the group and the present moment.
Practical Information
Workshops take place once a month and last 2–3 hours, in a space that provides a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment.
The number of participants is limited so that each person can receive individual attention.

If you feel that your body wants to speak, if you want to experience what it is like to be moved from within, I invite you to join me.

You may not know what you are doing, but your body will know why.
