Women’s Sailing

Women’s Sailing – A Space for Freedom and Connection

Connect with yourself, nature, and other women through a unique experience of feminine strength, tenderness, and depth on the open sea.

What Is Women’s Sailing?

Women’s sailing is a multi-day therapeutic and adventure workshop at sea, designed as a safe, supportive, and transformative space exclusively for women. We combine sailing the Adriatic with body psychotherapy, conscious movement, creative expression, and spiritual practices. Our aim is to create an opportunity for women, away from everyday life and the familiar, to deepen their relationship with themselves, their feminine nature, their body, sensuality, and their own inner wisdom.

On the sailboat, surrounded by the sea and the elements, it becomes easier to open ourselves to what truly moves us, to release what holds us back, and to reconnect with ourselves and others – honestly, courageously, and freely.

Why Do We Sail?

We sail because we believe in the power of nature, movement, and community as tools for inner transformation. We sail because we know that true freedom can be felt when we let go of control and surrender to the wind. We sail to explore feminine archetypes, sexuality, intuition, vulnerability, and strength within the safe environment of a circle of women.

These experiences are not only about rest and escape – although they are that, too. They are deeply healing because we encounter parts of ourselves that we often neglect in everyday life: the need for touch, closeness, playfulness, emotional expression, and silence.

Sailing is our framework, but also our metaphor – we learn to navigate our own lives, to read the winds and find our direction, to trust the unknown, while remaining present in our bodies, our relationships, and the moment.

Out at sea, where nature sets the rhythm, doors to deeper presence begin to open, emotions are released, and new space emerges within us. That is why we sail – because we want to be free and connected.

Who Are We?

Gabi (Gabrijela Medunić Orlić) and I met at a women’s retreat and, little by little, piece by piece, through many synchronicities and with a little witchy support from some of our friends – and many magical moments together – we realised that we wanted to sail. We completed skipper training and set sail.

The idea of women’s sailing was born in 2022, in response to a need we felt among women for deeper, more authentic connection. Drawing on years of experience in body psychotherapy, spiritual practices, and facilitating women’s circles, we created programmes that bring together the sea, the body, and the spirit.

We began with a few enthusiastic gatherings, and over the years we have built a strong community of women who return, recommend us to others, form new friendships, and discover their inner strength. Every programme we offer – from working with archetypes to exploring sensuality or our connection with the elements – is rooted in authentic experiential work, openness, trust, and gentle support.

How Is This Different from Other Sailing Trips and Retreats?

Unlike conventional sailing trips, our focus is not on the destination, but on the inner journey. There is no fixed itinerary; instead, we adapt to nature, the group, and the rhythm of the body. Unlike conventional workshops, everything here is in motion – physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

The therapeutic approach is embodied – we work through the body, movement, touch, breath, creativity, and ritual. Our sailboats are floating temples – places where women can explore themes that often remain unspoken: sexuality, boundaries, shame, sensuality, and connection with themselves and other women.

The group is small and intimate, and the work is safe and structured. We are not looking for performance, but honesty. This is not a retreat with a fixed agenda, but a living, organic experience that supports your own rhythm and inner process.

Presence, the women’s circle, nature, and spiritual practice come together here as one.

What Can You Expect on the Sailing Journey?

Expect warmth, support, and connection. Expect laughter, tears, silence, and dance. Expect that you may, perhaps for the first time, feel just how much your body knows, remembers, and desires.

Each day brings a new opportunity for movement – through practice, the sea, relationships, and inner exploration.

We begin the day with conscious movement, breathwork, or rituals for connecting with nature. Throughout the day, sailing alternates with therapeutic work, time for introspection, swimming, conversation, and silence. Evenings are reserved for sharing circles, relaxation, music, or dancing under the stars.

The only requirement is openness – to the experience, to yourself, and to others. Everything else unfolds naturally.

Programmes We Offer on Our Sailing Journeys:

SAILING ARCHETYPES

We explore feminine archetypes: the Wise Woman, Warrior, Queen, Mother, Lover, and Maiden. We look at which ones are dominant in us, which are suppressed, and how we can integrate them.

Through creative work, the body, movement, and introspection, we learn how these archetypal qualities can support our everyday lives, relationships, and inner balance.

This is an invitation into our inner kingdom – to remember who we have always been.

SAILING EROS

Here we explore our relationship with the energy of Eros – not only as sexuality, but as a life force, creativity, and freedom.

We connect the heart and the pelvis, the body and the soul. We work with releasing shame, fear, and inherited patterns connected with female sexuality.

Ancient practices, the wisdom of the body, touch, and presence guide us towards a deeper connection with ourselves and with other women.

This is a space for the healing and awakening of Eros.

SAILING ELEMENTS

This programme is based on working with the natural elements: Fire, Water, Earth, Air, and Ether.

We explore how the elements live within our bodies, emotions, and relationships. We work with our inner and outer nature in order to find balance, support, and clarity.

The sea and the wind are not merely the backdrop here – they are teachers, allies, and companions.

This is an invitation to attune ourselves to the cycles of nature and our own inner strength.

If you feel this calling – get in touch with us. Check the calendar to see when our sailing journeys take place, choose your dates, reserve your place, and set sail with us into the depths of yourself. Places are limited. If you have already sailed with us, an early-bird discount awaits you.

Embrace the wind, feel the freedom, and become part of a circle of women who dare to be – fully and truthfully.

Q&A

Dear future sailors,

We know that deciding to join our women’s sailing journey can bring up many questions. To make your preparations easier and clarify any uncertainties, we have put together a list of the most frequently asked questions, with honest and practical answers.

We hope it will help you feel more confident – and more excited – about the adventure ahead!

Do I need previous sailing experience?

Not at all! Our sailing journeys are designed for women of all levels of experience, including those who have never set foot on a boat before. Our experienced skippers will introduce you to the basics and take care of your safety throughout the journey.

What is the accommodation like on board?

We will live together on the sailboat, which means sharing cabins (usually twin cabins), bathrooms, and common spaces. This is part of the magic of sailing – the closeness and sense of community that develops among us.

If you wish, you can also sleep on deck under the stars.

What is included in the price?

The price includes boat rental, skipper and therapist services, programme costs, fuel, marina fees, and tourist taxes.

Additional costs include groceries for shared meals, travel insurance, and transportation costs to and from the marina.

How is food organised during the sailing trip?

We plan and prepare meals together on board. This is an opportunity to spend time together and share our culinary skills – but also to share laughter, cooperation, and inspiration.

What should I bring with me?

We recommend lightweight, layered clothing, sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen), a swimsuit, towel, personal toiletries, comfortable shoes with non-slip soles, and, of course, a good book or journal for capturing your impressions.

We will send you a detailed packing list before departure.

How can I sign up, and when is the deadline?

Registration is open until all places are filled, so we recommend signing up as early as possible. You can contact us by email or phone using the details provided on our website.

What if the weather conditions deteriorate during the sailing trip?

Safety is our top priority. In case of bad weather, we will adapt the itinerary or decide to remain in a safe harbour until conditions become favourable again.

Can I participate if I have certain health conditions?

Please let us know in advance about any health conditions or specific needs. Although sailing can be physically demanding, we do our best to adapt activities so that they are accessible to everyone.

It is important to us that you feel comfortable and safe.

How can I find out more?

Feel free to contact us by email, phone, or social media. We also regularly share news and experiences from previous participants on our Facebook page and Instagram profile.

We hope we have answered your questions and clarified any concerns. We look forward to sailing together and creating unforgettable memories with you!
